Today's journey brings me to Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND). I have just arrived at HND T2 from my prior flight from Singapore and ready to continue my trip onto today's flight with ANA's signature The Suite First Class.
ANA operates its international routes from both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at HND. The airline operate many regional routes to/from T2 and most long-haul flights to/from T3.
The transit from T2 to T3 requires a free internal shuttle bus ride. The bus runs quite frequently. There are plenty of seats on the bus and is quite comfortable to ride on.
Spotted Japan Airlines' very first A350-900 aircraft JA01XJ during the bus journey. The three first Japan Airlines A350-900 aircraft each carries an Airbus A350 sticker near the tail in red, silver and green color respectively.
And the T3 departure area is just a quick security check away. In my opinion, HND's T3 ranks among the best airport terminals to depart from. The terminal is HND's main international flight terminal, and despite usually crowded, is extremely efficient and clean with a lot of great food options both airside and landside.
Also, ANA, Japan Airlines, Cathay and Delta each operates their best-in-class lounges here, in addition to a few paid lounges.
As I am travelling on ANA First Class today, I get access to ANA Suite Lounge, which is the branding of the carrier's First Class lounges.
In addition to ANA First Class passengers (+1 Guest), the following passengers also get access to the ANA Suite Lounge:

The lounge can be divided into three main areas, separated by the reception area in the middle of the lounge: a dining area, a lounging area, and a toilet/shower area.
As I arrived quite early today in the evening and the lounge is still relatively quiet, I was guided to a seat and immediately offered a drink of choice.
Nevertheless, the lounge can get quite busy and service level could vary.

Starting the tour from the lounging area. This area consists of a few rows of these very private cubicles, in addition to some seats by the window for the apron view. The entire area is quite dark and classy. Going further inside, you can also find a small dining area.
Drinks are offered in the area, including a wide variety of alcohol, tea, coffee and soft drinks. Most of these are dispensed from automated machines, meaning no bars and bartenders like many other First Class lounges out there.
Moving over to the other side of the lounge, you can find a large area with a more open design for lounging / dining. And at the end is a buffet / dining area.
In the buffet area, some light bites, bread, and various packaged snacks are on offer.
But if you want something more substantial, you will need to order from the lounge staff or through the QR code on each seat (you will still need to collect the food yourself when it is ready). A few main categories of food is available: noodle, sushi, burger, curry rice, and soup. These dishes are prepared quite fast and the portion is not too big.
Got myself some sushi and curry with rice. Sushi are great with good fresh ingredients. The curry is also quite nice, but I have to admit that I prefer the beef curry from JAL's lounges:)
The shower room is relatively standard, nothing fancy but does the job well: very clean, comes with everything you need, good water pressure, and is of a decent size. Panasonic hair dryer is provided.
Plenty of seats are available around the gate area. Japanese airports are always extremely tidy and the finishing of everything feels so nice.
As of January 2025, ANA operates 13 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft as the flagship aircraft of ANA's international long-haul flights, covering key destinations such as the US and Eurppe.
Currently, there are two different configurations of the aircraft in operation. The older configuration features a total of 212 seats in 8F 68J 24W 112Y, extremely premium heavy. These aircraft has an interesting 2-4-3 layout in Economy Class.
The aircraft we are on today has the newer configuration in 8F 64J 24W 116Y - same total number of seats, with 4 less J seats and 4 more Y seats. These aircraft features ANA's latest The Room and The Suite cabin in Business Class and First Class.

Today's aircraft is JA795A, a 2019-built 777-300ER aircraft. The aircraft is leased from JP Lease Products & Services, an aircraft lessor that specialize in Japanese Operating Lease (JOL) products.
JOL is a type of aircraft operating lease arrangement that leverages tax advantages under the Japanese tax regulations.
This type of arrangement usually involves an investor (often through an SPV) purchasing the aircraft and leasing it to an airline. Through the process, the investor (lessor) takes advantage of tax reductions from depreciation, while the airline (lessee) gets to enjoy a more competitive lease rate.
The Suite is ANA's latest First Class offering. Launched in 2019, it showcases ANA's modern take on the next-generation First Class products, and is set to replace ANA's previous First Square First Class.
The seats are spacious, private, and modern. Each seat features a massive 43-inch 4K IFE screen - largest in the sky, only matched by Japan Airlines' latest A350-1000 First Class.
Although there is no official announcement yet, given the young age of the product, many speculate that the same cabin will be featured on ANA's upcoming777X aircraft.

Upon boarding, I was greeted by the super friendly cabin crew on today's flight and guided to my seat 1K. Very impressed by the cabin - super sleek color and finishings, super spacious seats, and the massive side-to-side screen.
Most of the controls of the seat are on the right side, with an IFE control and a control panel for seat and lighting adjustments.
Below that, there are a few narrow storage spaces along the seat. One of the compartments also features all the connecting points, including headphone jack, USB-A, HDMI port and universal power socket. The ability to turn the huge TV into a personal monitor is definitely a fantastic feature!
The window blinds are electronically controlled, with buttons on both the seat and on each window. You can also find a reading light on the corner of the seat.
The literature pocket is located on the other side of the seat, which could be opened up to reveal a mirror. A safety card, waste bag, and an inflight magazine are provided.
No individual air nozzles available.
Bringing the focus back to the center - the 43-inch side-to-side screen must be the most visually striking among any screens in the air. The system is also well designed, modern and responsive, with loads of movies to choose from.
A lot of the movies available are also in very high definition. I decided to watch Into the Spider-Verse on my flight and the movie experience is, without a doubt, the best that I have ever had on any flight.
All in all, ANA's The Suite First Class cabin and seat provides great overall space, privacy and tech, and is a great treat to travel in.

A lot of amenities are available on this First Class flight. Headphones provided are Sony WH-1000XM5, which is my own headphone of choice when travelling - lightweight, comfortable, with good sound quality and the best noise cancelling performance.
A free Wi-Fi code is offered as well.
The amenity kit is branded Globe-Trotter, in the classic luggage design. There are a few colors of the amenity kit and they are handed out randomly.
Inside, you will find a toothbrush, ear plugs, eye mask, and a skincare travel set from a high end cosmetics brand The Ginza - I did a quick search online, and the The Ginza travel set alone costs around 100 USD at MSRP.
Finally, the cabin crew also brought over a huge box of various amenities to choose from, so you could keep the amenity kit intact and bring it back as a souvenir. Again, a very nice touch and I appreciate that these are offered proactively.
Takeoffs at Haneda Airport never disappoints. By day, you could often spot the Mount Fuji in the distance, while by night, the clear view over the one of the largest metropolitan areas is equally mesmerizing.
The menu for today's flight came in a super premium leather folio with a simple design of ANA's branding.
Two meals are provided on today's flight - a supper and a breakfast, along with an impressive selection of light dishes available anytime.
The drink list is equally noteworthy, featuring some of the most exclusive spirits in the sky, from Krug Champagne to Hibiki 21 whiskey (only available on New York and London routes). For non-alcoholic options, an extensive range of teas, coffees, and other refreshing beverages is also on offer.
The supper service starts with a hot towel, and the drinks of choice. I would never say no to a glass of Krug onboard:)
Flying out of Japan, I could not pass on the Japanese meal option. ANA truly went above and beyond, serving dishes that felt more like a fine restaurant experience than an in-flight meal.
Each ingredient featured incredibly fresh ingredients, and everything is prepared to perfection - just look at the clear soup and the steamed custard, how amazing! Paired with the impressive drinks selection, this meal honestly rivals great Kaiseki restaurants on the ground in Tokyo.
Needless to say, it ranks one of the absolutely best meals you can have in the sky.
The breakfast served before landing, while not as elaborate as the supper, still showcases delicious and authentic Japanese dishes that for sure do not disappoint.
Two lavatories in the front of the cabin are shared among the 8 seat First Class cabin. The lavatories are sufficiently large to get changed in, features a modern white design, and are kept super clean throughout the flight.
As a Japanese carrier, bidet toilet is installed.
Additional amenities are available in the lavatory, including toothbrush, wet towel, and mouthwash. I particularly love the travel-sized mouthwash - something I wish all airlines would offer on their flights, as it’s incredibly convenient for freshening up mid-flight.
With only three out of the eight seats occupied on this flight, the cabin crew kindly offered to set up my bed in the middle seat.
The bedding is comfy, although compared to some other airlines' First Class beddings, the mattress is on the thinner side, and there is no choice of soft / hard.
Once the suite door is closed, it creates a very private sleeping space. Also, thanks to the seat’s rectangular design, there’s no feeling of restriction.
While I was asleep, the cabin crew thoughtfully adjusted my original seat into a lounging position - such a considerate touch.
I slept for so long that despite the flight is 13 hours long, it felt like we were already starting our descent into JFK in no time. As we began the descent, the cabin crew once again brought me some sweets and a refreshing drink.
ANA uses Terminal 7 here at JFK, along with airlines such as Alaska and Air Canada. Coming from such an amazing flight, JFK honestly felt quite underwhelming.
Flying it for the first time, I have nothing but praise for ANA's The Suite First Class - it was an absolutely wonderful journey.
The latest hard product is impressive, while the dining, amenities, and service are all held to an exceptionally high standard - among the best in the sky. The cabin crew was also incredibly attentive and considerate, which is arguably the most crucial factor in defining a good First Class experience.
Thank you for exploring this silhouette.
